The Comprehensive Experimental Class (hereinafter referred to as the "Experimental Class") was established in 2014. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "student-centered, individualized teaching, personalized development, and excellence in both character and academics", the class relies on the high-quality teaching resources of the whole school and follows the talent training goal of "solid foundation, broad scope, emphasis on morality, and strong ability" to cultivate future elite talents in various industries with strong social responsibility, good humanistic qualities, solid mathematical and scientific foundation, strong practical ability, distinctive personality characteristics and strong innovative spirit. After graduation, students mainly go to domestic and foreign research institutes or universities for further studies. The Experimental Class implements a "personalized, small-class, and internationalized" training model. It fully respects students' interests and professional aspirations, giving them more freedom in learning and course selection. Students choose their own majors and design personalized learning plans under the guidance of mentors. Highly qualified teachers with strong teaching and research abilities are selected from across the university to serve as lecturers, focusing on cultivating students' independent and research-oriented learning abilities. It fully utilizes high-quality domestic and international teaching resources, actively creating opportunities for students to study and exchange ideas at universities both domestically and internationally. Domestic and international experts and scholars are invited to give academic reports, and academic forums such as the Boya Forum, Mentor Salon, and Overseas Talent Launch are held to cultivate students' international perspectives. The experimental class adopts a mentor system, an academy system, and a credit system. A mentor pool is established, assigning a mentor to each student. Under the guidance of their mentors, students participate in research training in research teams or laboratories, cultivating their practical abilities and innovative spirit. The college system is implemented, with students from different majors residing together at Jiluan Academy. It promotes "Four-Self" education, cultivating students' comprehensive knowledge across arts and sciences, self-learning, self-management, self-education, interdisciplinary literacy, and social skills, fostering their holistic development and promoting their self-directed growth. Student registration is managed separately, and a full credit system is implemented. Graduation majors are determined based on coursework, graduation internships, and thesis topics. Students who meet the graduation and degree requirements for their respective majors are awarded graduation and degree certificates. Since its establishment in 2014, the students of the Comprehensive Experimental Class have won a total of 1,013 provincial and above-level academic competition awards (including 488 national and above-level awards); funded 196 scientific research training projects (including 50 national-level projects); published 106 papers in core and above-level journals; and participated in long-term and short-term exchange and study programs in the UK, the US, and other countries. Five graduating classes have been completed, with more than 80% of the students continuing their studies at domestic and international research institutes or universities. |
